Huskies Make Offer To UA Commit

While preparing for their matchup with Alabama on Saturday, Washington has still been hard at work on filling out the remaining spots in their 2017 class and on Monday they extended an offer to Desert Ridge (Mesa, Az.) LB/DE Jalen Harris, a commit to Arizona, and he could be visiting sometime next month...

Harris announced his offer from Washington on his Twitter account earlier today.

The Huskies are the 17th known offer for the talented prospect who finished with finished his season with 30 tackles, seven sacks and 16 tackles-for-loss.

"I talked to coach (Jordan) Paopao today and he said they were offering me," Harris noted. "I also have been talking with coach 'K' (Pete Kwiatkowski), their defensive coordinator, and he said they had been reviewing my senior film and he said he really liked how much I have improved and they feel like I could do something special up there in their system."

Harris said the Husky coaches envision him fitting in as a BUCK in their scheme.

"They like my ability to rush the quarterback," Harris said.

While he remains committed to Arizona, Harris has taken an official visit to Colorado and has an official visit scheduled for Illinois on January 20th.

"I'm just making sure I make the right choice for me and making sure it's the best fit," Harris said. "I am not sure if I will visit Washington yet, but it's something I am thinking about.

"They're a winning program and they have a great history and tradition there. It is a great school, so it's something I am thinking about."

Harris hasn't visited Seattle yet, but he did spend some time Pullman while visiting Washington State.

"Yeah, I've never been there, so that's something I'm excited about," Harris said. "Pullman and Seattle are a lot different, so I feel like I would need to see it in order to really make a good decision."

We'll have more on Harris in the coming weeks and we will update news on him as it happens. Top Stories
