John Ross breaks 40-yard dash combine record

It's now official. Washington receiver John Ross was recorded at 4.22 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine Saturday morning, breaking the eight-year record of 4.24 set by Chris Johnson.

Obviously he's not getting an island, but Ross probably earned enough with that run to guarantee he could buy an island if he wanted one.

But because Ross was cramping up throughout the run, he decided not to run his second 40 and not participate in the receiver drills. He jumped 37 inches in the vertical jump.

Ross will join his UW teammates March 11 at the Dempsey Indoor to take part in Washington's Pro Day. He will certainly participate in the receiver drills there, but is not expected to do any more testing.
