"This is a tremendous offer for me," Langham told Dawgman.com shortly after announcing his offer on Twitter. "It's not just football, but also academically too."
Washington defensive line coach Ikaika Malloe is running point for the Huskies with Langham and he is the coach that called and made the offer.
"He really didn't dive into the football aspect," Langham noted. "He basically wants to build a relationship with me since I'm so far away.
"I am considering Washington because of their great football program and what they have to offer academically."
Langham said he had a heavy interest in the Huskies even before they started recruiting him.
"Besides all that the school has to offer, I really liked how their D-Line played all season long," Langham said.
There are some scouts who believe that Langham, who currently measures in at just over 6'5" and weighs close to 260 pounds, could grow into an interior defensive lineman once he spends a year or two in a college strength and conditioning program.
With Washington's needs along the defensive line, it's no surprise they have offered a player with Langham's athleticism and abilities and he said he hopes to make a visit to Seattle in the coming weeks or possibly this summer in order to see the campus in person and to meet with the coaches.
As a junior last season, Langham finished with 64 tackles, four tackles-for-loss and six sacks.
We'll continue to keep tabs on Langham and we will update news on him as it happens.
