"It was great to get the offer and just to get up here and see the facilities, the school and to meet with the staff," Holland told Dawgman.com. "It went great actually. I got a chance to sit down with coach (Jimmy) Lake and talk some technique stuff and everyday stuff that they do. The coaching staff is good, talking to coach (Chris) Petersen, he has a really good system and the coaches are all bought in, so it was a great experience."
"The abundance of knowledge that coach Petersen and coach Lake displayed," Holland noted. "They are the only coaches I really spent much time with, but their knowledge of football was impressive.
"Coach Lake is really gifted in the way that he teaches things and how he coaches his players and how he teaches the technique he wants his guys to use and you can see how hard they work on it because it's the spitting image of how they play in games when you watch them in practice."
Holland is one of the more versatile players on the West Coast this year, ranking seventh in the country at the "Athlete" spot, and he could project at either wideout or somewhere in the secondary once he arrives at a school and he said the Huskies have told him where they want him to play should he choose to become a Husky.
"They actually want me at corner," Holland said. "They said they like my length and how aggressive I am and they think I fit into exactly what they like to do out on the edge playing corner."
With Holland already holding close to 20 offers including Cal, Notre Dame, UCLA, Nebraska and Oregon among others, he's got quite a few schools to choose from and he said one thing that sets Washington apart from the rest, although he's not naming any favorites at this point, is how they play defense.
"They never have a situation where it's just man-to-man, they always have somebody ready to help and I like that a lot," Holland said. "The way they play defense really sticks out. It's always about the team and for the team and I like that mentality a lot."
Holland said he plans to take all five of his official visits, but wants to name a "top eight or top 10 soon."
We'll have more on Holland in the coming weeks and months as he continues to work his way through the recruiting process and we will update news on him as it happens.
