The Arizona Cardinals make Washington Huskies Safety Baker's NFL dream come true

It was never a matter of if, but when for Budda Baker, as the junior safety was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the 36th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

During his three-year UW career, the 2016 NCAA Consensus All-America pick started every one of the 40 games he played in, minus the California game in 2015.  He finished with 200 total tackles, 139 of those solo, as well as 13.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, and five interceptions.

As a junior, Baker was not only a First-Team All-America selection by The Sporting News, Sports Illustrated, Football Writers, and FOX Sports, he was also a semi-finalist for three separate post-season awards (Badnarik, Lott IMPACT, Thorpe). He was also a two-time All-Pac-12 First Team selection.

The 5-foot-9.5, 195-pound Baker ran a 4.45 40 at the 2017 NFL Combine. He also ran a 4.08 20-yard shuttle, 6.76 L-Cone shuttle and jumped 32.5 inches in the vertical jump and 9-7 in the standing broad jump. Top Stories
