Darnell Bing Update

Long Beach Poly's Darnell Bing hasn't had to do much this year. In fact, the 6-3, 212-pound safety for the Jackrabbits was looking forward to going mano-a-mano with Narbonne's Marcus O'Keith. Unfortunately for both Marcus and Darnell, the Jackrabbit front seven never let an O'Keith-Bing matchup materialize.

"Yeah, I didn't have to do much against him," Darnell told Dawgman.com. "Our defensive line took care of him."

Bing hasn't had to do much so far, only making 12 tackles up to this point, but it hasn't stopped colleges from banging down his door.

"Basically the Pac-10," Darnell said, when naming off the schools that have been recruiting him the hardest. And a Top-5? "USC, Oregon, Washington, Florida and Florida State."

Bing is a man of few words, and when it comes to recruiting, the words become fewer. "I'm going to worry about trips after the season is over," he said, summing up his current involvement in the process. He claims no leader so far.
