As Wednesday decended upon Montlake, those players nicked up from this past weekend's Oregon State game are starting to get back into playing shape. But will they all be able to play? Washington head coach Keith Gilbertson has a group of friends he played with at Hawaii come to the mainland for one Husky game each year and this year they picked USC. Now, do they have any eligibility left?

"Rich Alexis will practice today," Gilbertson said Wednesday afternoon. "Zach Tuiasosopo and Tusi Sa'au will both play as well and we'll see how things go."

Tuiasosopo was available to go Tuesday, but trainers held him out an extra day.

Wednesday's padded practice will go a long way toward detemining whether or not Alexis will start against USC. "If he finishes well today, he should be full go," Gilbertson said.

This is a bit of a turnaround for the senior tailback from Coral Springs, Florida, who appeared to have a serious leg injury last Saturday against Oregon State.

Tight end Joe Toledo did practice yesterday, and will go again Wednesday. Because he has not been available since week two, his snaps Saturday may be limited. Sa'au's will also be on a limited snap-count.

"We'd like to give them around twenty or so snaps," Gilbertson said. "But like with Tusi, he was supposed to get 15 on Saturday and he took 31."

When it comes to defending a potent Trojan offensive attack, Gilbertson hopes to have all of his experienced defenders available. Would he consider putting his best cover corner, Derrick Johnson, on USC's Mike Williams?

"You might be able to get away with that for a while," Gilbertson said of putting a 'bandit' on Williams. "But then they have other guys, like Keary Colbert, that would eat us alive.

"Also, he doesn't line up just in one place. So if you want to cover him with one guy, fine. Go find him."
