Goldson not happy with rumor

Coffeyville safety prospect Dashon Goldson spent Thanksgiving in Kansas City and had a football game Sunday against Northeastern Oklahoma College, so the rumors of Goldson visiting USC this past weekend and committing are premature. In fact, Dashon was unhappy that there's been any speculation about his recruitment at all.

"I've never been to USC, I never committed to USC," Goldson told Sunday evening. "That's some kind of bull. I don't know where that came from. I'm kind of mad about that."

He is going to visit the Trojans, but not for at least another week or so. "They said they offered me a scholarship," Goldson said about USC's recruitment of him. "The coaches said that they are after me and that they want me. I don't know what that's supposed to mean...scholarship or not."

Dashon had 11 tackles, one forced fumble and a recovered fumble in a loss Sunday to NEO "I'm just focusing on my schoolwork now. I just have this week and next week to finish off school and then I'll make my choice.

"I've only taken the Washington trip so far and I really liked it. I'll go on my other trip to see how it goes."

And his parents? Goldson is originally from Harbor City - a suburb of Los Angeles - so the Trojans offer up an appealing option. "They want me to do whatever I want to, but they want me to make the right decision," Dashon said. "Wherever I make my commitment they are behind me 100 percent."

And if he had to make his decision today? "It would be Washington." Top Stories
