Loren Howard Update

Perhaps the most highly coveted defensive lineman in the state of Arizona is Saguaro's Loren Howard, and the 6'5", 270-pound big man from Scottsdale is already in the throes of making some big waves in the state high school football rankings.

"We're 5-0," Loren told Dawgman.com. "We have Tempe comin' up on Friday. They are 3rd in the state right now. Big game comin' up."

So far through those 5 games, Howard has racked up 45 tackles and 5 sacks. "I think I'm playing well," he said.

He must be, as over 30 schools have proffered offers to the young man from Scottsdale. "I'm taking official trips to ASU(12/14), Northwestern, Notre Dame, and either Washington, Texas, Stanford or Ohio State," said Howard.

The main coach recruiting Loren for the Huskies is Rick Neuheisel. "He wants to get me up there on a trip," Howard said. "He's recruiting me on the defensive line, either as a defensive end or tackle. I like tackle better. You don't have to contain as much as the end. It's more just playing football, less thinking."

Why the interest in Washington? "They are a great program. The coaches seem pretty cool. I lived up there before (8 months in Shoreline when he was in 6th grade). The weather's cool. I have two aunts that still live up there and a ton of cousins."

Loren will be making all of his trips before making a decision. We will contact Howard when he has officially set up all of his official visits.
