Mesphin Forrester commits to Washington

He waited a couple of days until all the warm, fuzzy feelings from last weekend's trip to Seattle wore off, but they never did. Los Angeles (Calif.) Venice ATH Mesphin Forrester got a call from Washington head coach Keith Gilbertson Tuesday evening and he gave the Husky coach an 'early Christmas present'.

"Yes, I committed to Washington," Forrester told Tuesday night. "Coach Gilbertson called me tonight and I sprung the news on him then.

"He was really happy. He told me it was like an early Christmas present for him." Forrester plays strong safety for Venice and is being recruited as an athlete for the Huskies.

What was it about his visit experience that kept coming back to mind? "Well, their football program is great and their educational program is solid too," Mesphin said. "I liked it all a lot. They had the best package for me.

"I also like the city there. It's a really nice town."

Football runs in the family, as Forrester's brother, Wale, was recruited by Washington a couple of years ago and ended up at California, where he is a sophomore cornerback.
