Gunheim takes time, commits to UW spoke Friday night with Dee Gunheim, mother to Sebastopol (Calif.) Analy ATH Greyson Gunheim, who made a decision this afternoon to attend the University of Washington. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Gunheim chose the Huskies over Oregon and Nebraska.

"It wasn't any one thing," Dee said when asked what put Washington over the top in Greyson's mind. "We went over everything that all the coaches had to say and I know that Greyson really liked the players up there and he really enjoyed his visit."

She also confirmed the belief that Greyson put the Huskies at the top of his list because of the blend of academics and athletics after his official visit and that they never left that spot despite trips to Oregon and Nebraska.

And the coaches' reaction to his decision? "I was there when he committed and all the coaches were thrilled," Dee said. "They were very excited and congratulating him for coming on board, telling him that they were looking forward to seeing him.

"It's been a long process for us, and we're pretty happy that it's over."

Greyson was with his father, and could not be reached for immediate comment. "They are probably celebrating," Dee said with a laugh.
