Top-Rated WR Still Interested in UW

Kennedy's Rhema McKnight has been doing it all this year, running the ball, catching the ball and picking the ball off, and the 6-2.5, 190-pounder from La Palma, California has earned the distinction of being the top receiver prospect on the West Coast. has Rhema as the #1 receiver, beating out such luminaries as James Finley, Blake Mackey, Terry Richardson and Antwaun Smith. Ironically enough, while he has racked up over 1400 combined yards so far this year, only 400 has come via the air. He also has 17 touchdowns to his credit, as well as 3 interceptions and around seven-eight tackles per game.

Kennedy is 6-2 and has one more league game, and that game is of special interest to McKnight. "Well, we've already won league, but if we win Friday against El Dorado, we win outright," Rhema told "There's a lot of motivation to win."

One thing McKnight has on the back burner is his D1 recruitment, as schools from all over the country have circled La Palma as a destination of choice. Florida, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Tennessee, Washington, Oregon and Notre Dame are the main schools that have earned Rhema's interest, but he's not ready to tackle the recruiting process until his season is complete. "I'm going to wait until the season is over before I set up any trips," he said, but Florida and Georgia Tech are 'most likely' going to get visits right now. All of his favorites have offered.

And McKnight's interest in the school located in Seattle? "I have a definite interest in Washington," Rhema said. "They have a great football program. I talk to Coach Neuheisel all the time. He tells me about everything."

We'll be in touch with McKnight when his season is complete to find out more on his official visits. Top Stories
