Bandel Close to Doing the Deed?

Ben Bandel knows there's a need, he's got an offer available to him and he's visiting this weekend? What more does he need, runway lights on the field turf? All kidding aside, the 6-7, 250-pound tight end from Murrieta, California is heading to Washington on Friday. Will it be the first, last and only official visit he'll take?

"I think there's a good chance I could commit," Ben told Dawgman.com last night. "I just want to go up there and see what their practices are like. I know they are preparing for the Holiday Bowl, so I just want to see how things are run up there. I also want to check out the people and the community too, what the players are like and what the coaches are like. Those are the people I'm going to be spending most of my time with if that's where I go."

For Bandel, this has been a much anticipated weekend. "Yeah, we go up there on Friday. I'm very excited." Hightening the enjoyment will be an in-home visit from Bobby Hauck the night before the Bandel's head to Seattle. "He's been telling me that the tight end spot is wide open and that they have a spot for me," Ben said.

Bandel also has visits set up for Oregon on January 4th and Oregon State on January 11th. His only offer currently is from Washington.

We will be in touch with Ben after his visit.
