James Looking for an Offer

Kenny James is a 5-11, 200-pound running back from Dos Palos, California, and James and his teammates took care of business, winning the Sequioa section small school Division of The CIF Central Section, destroying San Joaquin Memorial 69-7.

"I did pretty good," James told Dawgman.com last night. "I had 5 touchdowns and 226 yards." Kenny ended up with 2900 yards and 49 touchdowns for the season.

Now that the season is over, recruiting is in full swing, and the James' have been entertaining coaches from all over the West. "Coach (Mike) Price from Washington State visited a couple of weeks ago and Coach (Chuck) Heater from Washington came by last week. Boise State is coming by this week." Kenny currently has offers from Arizona, Washington State and Fresno State and will be visiting the Bulldogs on January 4th.

Washington is the only school James is interested in that hasn't officially offered, but he's not expecting that to be a problem. "I don't have an offer yet but they talked about offering me on my visit," he said. He's visiting the Huskies this weekend.

The depth chart will get a good once-over from Kenny on his trip. "Well the main thing I'm going to be looking at is, since I would be going so far from home if I committed to Washington, would I get a chance to play right away as a true freshman or would I have to redshirt? I'll be looking to see how many running backs they have coming back."

James still claims no leader between the 4. "If I had to choose between them today I honestly couldn't say," he said. And would that still be the case if the Husky coaches pull out all the stops this weekend? "Well, if they did, I think I would still have to wait. I need to leave more options open. Washington has a great program and great academics, but I want to weigh my options."
