Crutchley Commits to Washington

Dash Crutchley, a 6-6, 220-pound athlete from Temecula, California has decided to cast his lot with the Washington Huskies. Dash put in a call to Rick Neuheisel on Tuesday night and his fate was sealed.

"He was pretty stoked," Dash told tonight. "He just said, 'You're a Dawg now.'" While Crutchley played receiver, cornerback and punter for Temecula, he'll be an outside linebacker for the Dawgs.

Coach (Bobby) Hauck wants me to play outside linebacker and I'm looking forward to that," Dash said. "I've never done it before, and it was simply a matter of showing me the position and saying, 'Do you think you can do it?'. I think I can."

Crutchley was supposed to take one more visit to Oregon State before deciding, but felt like he needed to jump on the Husky train before it left the station. "The fact is, I didn't know if the scholarship was going to last," he said. "With more and more people interested in Washington, I knew there was a chance more and more players would commit and I would miss out. When I went on my visit, all I could think about was going there. It's just such a good deal. I felt so at home up there."

Crutchley came to his decision early this week and then sent the word north. "It was just too good to pass up," he said.

Crutchley is fully qualified, sporting a 3.6 GPA and a 1190 SAT. Top Stories
