Kenny James committed but still looking

Dawgman.com reached Kenny James, a 5-11, 205-pound running back from Dos Palos, California to find out the latest, and James let us know that he's very close to the end of the recruiting process.

"I have one more trip to go, to Fresno State next weekend," James said. "I talked to Coach Neuheisel after my trip and he was asking me questions about coming up there and playing for Washington. My Mom told him that I was going to Washington. It's a beautiful place and I think it's the best place for me right now but I still have one trip left."

So Kenny committed to Coach Neuheisel? "I did," he said. "I like the coaching staff and the state and city are beautiful. And they are in the Pac-10, which is where I want to be playing."

But it's not a done deal, and James knows it. When asked if he would consider himself a soft commit to Washington right now, he said, "Yes, I think that would be a fair thing to say."

James mentioned a few things about the Bulldogs, including proximity to home and their offense, but mainly talked about their head coach. "I really like Coach Pat Hill," he said. "He's a real players' coach." Kenny said the same thing about Coach Nueheisel too.

So what will it come down to in the end for Kenny? "I think ultimately it's going to come down to whether or not I want to stay close to home or go away. Right now I don't think it's going to be that important for me either way, but it's important for me to see both Washington and Fresno State to see which one I like best. And then I'll attend that school."
