Milsten back from official visit

Dan Milsten is a 6-5, 260-pound defensive lineman from Puyallup, Washington and the Washington verbal commit paid his future school an official visit this weekend. What were his thoughts on the Dawgs?

"I had a great time," Dan told tonight. "It was awesome." And the highlight? "Well, just before the basketball game, we went to the locker room and put on our jerseys and went through the tunnel. Then we went to the basketball game."

Dan admitted to being a neophyte when it comes to Husky hoops. "Yeah, that was the first time I had ever been to a U-Dub basketball game. We got tickets in the front row. It was incredible."

Milsten's parents also accompanied him on his visit. "I really think it was more than they expected," Dan said of their impressions of the school. "I had all of my questions answered even before I got to ask them. They had everything all planned out for me."

Dan's host was Andy Heater. "Andy was great," said Milsten. "He just talked to me about what it's like when you come in for your first year in the program. And when I was with him we just hung out with the other recruits and players. The players really welcomed me in to the program."

He also had an opportunity to talk in-depth with Randy Hart. "I talked to Coach Hart about next year and about redshirting if that's what happens. They are bringing me in to play both defensive end and d-tackle too. I talked to Coach Neuheisel a little bit, but not too much. Mostly about football in general."

One thing he did take care of was his verbal commitment to the Dawgs. "Oh yeah," he said. "I'm definitely going there, no question." Did he start acting as a bit of a recruiter during his visit? "A little bit. I made sure I talked to all of them at some point during the visit, but I don't think any of them committed. It sounded like they all still had some visits to take in the coming weeks."
