E.J. Savannah - The Berkeley Hang

Bellevue (Wash.) linebacker E.J. Savannah (6-1, 215, 4.55, Scout.com's #36 LB) still denies a leader but favors Oregon, Washington, Cal (12/17 official trip), Arizona State (12/10) and Arizona (9/17).

"I really don't have a leader yet," says Savannah. "I've only been to three schools for my official visits, so I only know about where I've been so far.

"My trip to Cal went good. I really haven't had a bad trip yet. Terrell Williams (running back) and Tim Mixon (cornerback) were my hosts. They showed me around the town. Berkeley is a real nice town. I got to hang out with the players a lot.

"The highlight of the trip was playing video games with some of the players. One night some of us went out to one of the local arcades and we all had fun. We talked a lot about the school and I got a good feel of what the players' personalities were like.

"They all have real good discipline that coach (Jeff) Tedford has instilled in them. I like their attitudes.

"Cal has a real nice defense. I got to speak a lot with coach (Justin) Wilcox (linebackers) and he was surprised on how much I knew. I'm already really used to the defense at Cal because it's similar to what we run at Bellevue.

"Basically it would just be learning the names of the players on my team. The program there is heading in the right direction.

"I was planning on going to Colorado on 1/14 for an official visit, but I'm looking to switch the visit for Washington. I like the coaching situation there with coach (Tyrone) Willingham coming to their program."

Savannah will officially visit Oregon (1/7) and either Colorado or Washington (1/14).

Bellevue beat Ferndale 31-28 for the state championship on 12/3.

Final SR (13-0) stats: 90+ tackles/12 TFL/7 sacks. Savannah missed his last four games due to a pinched nerve in his neck.
