Bing following teammates?

Darnell Bing is a 6-3, 215-pound safety prospect from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly who is considered the premier secondary player on the West Coast. Darnell just returned from an official visit to the University of Oregon. With previous trips to Washington and USC, is he closer to making a decision?

"I'm not committed anywhere," Bing said tonight. "I just got back from Oregon and I had a good trip. Sammie Parker was my host. It rained and was cold all weekend. Coach (Mike) Bellotti let me know that he thinks I could come in and play as a true freshman."

Bing professes no leader, but did say that if he had to pick today, USC would be number one, Oregon second and Washington a distant third. Why did the Huskies move back in the pack? "Well, to be honest, on my trip it seemed like the players really didn't make a big effort to get to know the recruits," he said. "They didn't really welcome us."

Darnell isn't sure if he'll take another official visit, but there is the possibility he could visit Florida on the weekend of February 2nd. Stay tuned for more on Darnell.
