Will Moriarty Visit UW?

Having only visited the University of Colorado, Goleta (Calif.) Dos Pueblos QB Kellen Moriarty has had a relaxing recruiting season so far. That is about to change this weekend however, as the senior playmaker has three recruiting trips set up over the next three weekends.

"I have Rice this weekend (1/14), UNLV on the 21st, and Washington on the 28th," Moriarty said. Moriarty visited the Buffaloes in December and seemed to like his visit, even though they haven't offered yet.

"It was great. I loved the atmosphere, the coaches and basically everything about it," he said. "They haven't offered me yet, but they have called three times since my visit so I think they are still pretty interested. They have also talked about possibly greyshirting so that is also an option."

So what about the University of Washington?

"I was talking with Coach (Tyrone) Willingham when he was at Notre Dame and I like him," Moriarty continued. "But Coach (Chris) Tormey is the one who was recruiting me at UW.

"He is really pushing me as an athlete to the staff. He really seems excited about the new staff and says Coach Willingham is a good coach."

Moriarty had a solid season at quarterback in 2004, throwing for over 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns while running for another 500 yards and five scores on the ground.

"I prefer to play on offense, but I really don't care. I just want to play."

Moriarty has two scholarship offers to date, but expects a third by the end of the month. "Rice and UNLV are the only scholarships right now, but (UW) said that if I come up on my visit, that I will have a scholarship waiting for me."
