Williams talks about commitment to UW

Tim Williams is a 6-6, 240-pound TE/DE from Chehalis (Wash.) W.F. West, and the big Bearcat has made his college choice. Williams will attend Washington after visiting Oregon this past weekend. Here's what he had to say about his commitment.

"I think it was the feeling I got from all the coaches," Williams told Scout.com Thursday about the final decision he made Wednesday night. "They knew who I was and they called me by name. It felt right to me.

"I talked first with Coach (Randy) Hart first and then he put Coach (Tyrone) Willingham on the phone. You'll have to ask them if they were happy with it, but they seemed happy and excited about it."

Williams went to Oregon but declined to talk at length about the differences between the two schools. "There were a lot of good things at both schools, but it really came down to how I felt and where I wanted to live," Tim said. "Education was also a big thing on my mind. The distance didn't have anything to do with it."

Williams will major in communications and possibly minor in education, with the hopes he can get into broadcasting when his career comes to a close. His favorite announcer? Tony Siragusa. "He makes me laugh and he's also one of my favorite linemen," said Williams.

And his favorite tight end? "It's Jeremy Shockey," said Williams. "I like his style of play, he's pretty intense."
