Weekend update - DM.C

It was a busy weekend, if you're just logging onto Dawgman.com to catch up. Here is a quick look in review at the stories in and around Montlake Boulevard...

On the hardwood, Washington earned a split in the desert, hanging tough in the second half and winning in Tempe against the Sun Devils:

STORY 1: Dawgs take it to Devils

On the recruiting trail, Tyrone Willingham is filling out his first (albeit somewhat abbreviated) recruiting class, picking up two new commits and firming up a third that was soft before this weekend. Click on the name links below for the full stories.

STORY 2: Qwenton Freeman is a speedy defensive back that committed to Washington. He's from Pasadena CC.

STORY 3: Daniel T'eo Nesheim had given Willingham a verbal once before, but then Oregon reentered the picture. He ended speculation on Sunday and made his verbal to UW solid.

STORY 4: Ben Ossai had committed to Fresno State but after his visit to Seattle, he was swayed into decommitting FSU, and decided to play for Willingham.

One other story to follow, STORY 5: Ismail Abdunafi is the DL that could make the Husky class much stronger, and the UW has made the final cut. One last minute addition to this though - STORY 5A: Texas A&M may get the nod. We'll find out tomorrow.

In women's tennis, STORY 6: Washington blanked Boise State 7-0 at the Nordstrom Center. The women netters are ranked #10 nationally.

STORY 7: The #21 ranked Husky men's tennis team defeated New Mexico 5-2, while the women blanked Gonzaga 7-0.

Friday night Washington receieved great news in recruiting when STORY 8: EJ Savannah announced for Washington on KING TV news, and a little later that evening STORY 9: JR Hasty made it a double from powerhouse Bellevue High School and committed to Washington.

STORY 10: LB Darrion Jones had a great visit to Seattle and reaffirmed his commitment to the UW.
