Rosborough signs with Washington (Updated 1:30 PM)

The Long Beach Press Telegram reported Monday that Morgan Rosborough, a 6-7, 350-pound offensive lineman, has signed a letter of intent to attend Washington after receiving a letter from UW and their new Head Coach, Tyrone Willingham.

"I spoke with Morgan today and he told me that he did sign a letter of intent with Washington and would be sending it back to them either today or tomorrow," Jordan Head Coach Scott Meyer told this afternoon.

Meyer had gotten word of Rosborough's signing earlier in the day through Morgan's older brother Joel, who played with Washington in the 80's. "He told me it was a done deal," said Meyer.

Rosborough was waiting for a letter to arrive per a previous conversation. "I talked with Coach (Tyrone) Willingham today," said Rosborough in early February. "He told me that one of his players on scholarship is about to transfer, so we're waiting on that. We're supposed to touch base with him at the end of next week to take care of the paperwork and go over the off-season strength and conditioning plan."

"He (Rosborough) told me that he is excited to go up to Seattle and play for Coach (Tyrone) Willingham," added Meyer. "He also told me how much he enjoyed talking with Coach (Mike) Denbrock on his official visit."

Morgan is playing basketball right now for Jordan and will suit up for them tonight in a CIF Southern Section Division Ia playoff game. "We've won our first two playoff games and they play Quartz Hill tonight," said Meyer. "If they win that game they play Friday to get to the semifinals.

"Morgan has been playing very well. He scored 12 points and had 6 rebounds in Friday's game against El Rancho."
