Will Haas to Eastern Washington

Dawgman.com talked briefly to Will Haas tonight, the 6-4, 205-pound receiver from Kirkland (Wash.) Juanita, and Will confirmed that he will be attending Eastern Washington University over interest from the Air Force and the University of Washington.

"I'm going to Eastern," Will said. "I'm committed to them." Haas plans on signing a letter of intent with EWU on Wednesday.

Haas pointed to the kind of offense the Eagles run and how they see him in it as determining factors. That and a ride that pays his whole way. "They want me as a tight end," he said. "The tight end is kind of the focus of their offense. I'm pretty excited to get in there, get bigger and hit people."

When asked about the other schools that were interested, Will said that Eastern was the natural fit for him. "I know the Air Force was disappointed," he said. "Western Washington came in and they knew I was going to Eastern anyways, but they pestered me for a bit. I wasn't biting."

And the hometown school? "Washington never offered me a scholarship," he said. "I haven't heard from Coach Gilbertson for a while now."
