Washington Head Coach Lorenzo Romar:
On big win: That was a great win over a great team by a great bun ch of guys. We are not the biggest team in the world, but all year long we stayed together. I couldn't be more excited for these guys to experience being a champion in this tournament.
On Salim Stoudamire: Salim Stoudamire played his heart out and had a great game. We were able to work our tails off with a sense of urgency which just wouldn't let us lose today.
On fatigue: These are 19 and 20-year olds, so I don't think fatigue will be a problem. We do have to come down frrom the high of winning a championship. We don't play for another four days or so, so we can get good and rested. I think that we will be fine because these guys have been waiting for this moment too long, even if they are tired the adrenaline is going to kick in.
Arizona Head Coach Lute Olson:
On the game: There's no question the team that played the hardest won the title. We were out-rebounded 41-26 and that can't happen. Down the stretch, Tre Simmons came up big and Nate Robinson, as he always does, came up big when the game was on the line.
On the loss: This is just a bump in the road and we need to learn from it and get ready for Thursday.
On Salim Stoudamire: I think the guys were standing around waiting on Salim to make a play and we just can't do that.
On Stoudamire's alleged trip: That call did not cost us the game, the boards is what cost it for us and we need to correct it for Thursday.
