Dawgs rally to defeat FSU, 10-7

Washington rallied for three runs in the seventh to beat Fresno State, 10-7, Sunday at Beiden Field to win the three-game series two games to one. With the win the Huskies are now 5-2 on the season.

Washington broke open a 7-all tie with three runs in the seventh. Senior Michael Done led off with his fourth home run of the season, and then Jay Garthwaite smacked a double, his third of the day. Steve Ramsey singled and Kyle Larsen hit a sacrifice fly to provide the Huskies with the final tallies of the game.

The Huskies plated four in the first today, with the aid of a misplayed bunt and two Bulldog errors. With runners at first and third, Tyler Davidson reached on an error, which allowed Brandon Jacobson to score. Garthwaite then doubled to the right-center gap to send home two more runners. An error allowed Garthwaite to score the fourth run.

In the third, Husky sophomore Mike Wagner doubled to drive in Johnson and DH Nick Batkoski. Garthwaite's second double of the day drove home Davidson to give the UW a 7-2 lead.

UW reliever Greg Colburn picked up the win and junior Tyler Shepple got the last four outs to earn his third save. FSU reliever Sean Ruthven (0-1) took the loss.
