Wrenn will return for junior season

SEATTLE – Forward Doug Wrenn, the 2002 Pacific-10 Conference Newcomer of the Year, will return next season for his junior year with the University of Washington men's basketball team. A 6-foot-8 forward from Seattle, Wrenn announced today that he will not apply for early entry into the NBA Draft.

Wrenn's main reason for returning for next season was to develop next year and help the Huskies win games.

Wrenn completed his sophomore season in 2001-02 and ranked third among all Pac-10 scorers with an average of 19.5 points per game. He was also was the team's second-leading rebounder with an average of 6.4 per game.

Wrenn credited new Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar for helping him with the decision to remain in school.
