USC Nike camp update - Drew Radovich

Drew Radovich is a 6-5, 270-pound offensive lineman from Mission Viejo, California, and Drew was the consensus number one OL at last Saturday's Nike camp at USC. Does he like Washington?

"I wanted to see what the competition is like out there,' Drew said when asked about his motivation for participating in the Nike camp. He found out that he was the best offensive lineman in the bunch, and it wasn't really close.

His Mission Viejo line coach, Marty Spaulding, is also the line coach that does the Nike camps across the country. Having coach Spaulding out there put Radovich at ease. "Most people don't know what his character is, but I do," Drew said. "He's a great man."

Radovich had a solid testing session, running a 5.11 40 and jumping 24.8 inches in the vertical jump. Drew had perhaps the fastest recorded shuttle time of any lineman ever with a 4.03 mark. Drew was a first team all-league selection as well as all-CIF, second team all-county and first team junior all-state choice.

USC, UCLA, Nebraska, Texas and Florida head up Drew's current list of favorite schools, but don't discount the Dawgs here. Word travelled fast to Montlake of Radovich's exploits at USC and the University of Washington offered Drew a scholarship to play football for the Huskies a few days ago.

Current Husky Todd Bachert played his prep ball for the Diablos, so there is a definite connection for Radovich and the Dawgs. Stay tuned... Top Stories
