USC Nike camp update - Sam DeSa

Sam DeSa is a 5-10, 175-pound WR from Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista, and it's DeSa's job to make Kyle Wright look good. It's not a hard job. Last year he hauled down 65 of Wright's passes for 1210 yards and 14 touchdowns. Sam also had 3 interceptions on defense with two returned for TD's.

His work first team all-league, all-area and first team Bay-area as receiver and DB. He took his skills to USC, where he tested with the best receivers in Southern California. "I felt pretty good," DeSa told Dawgman.com. "I ran a pretty good 40 time (4.46), jumped about 34-inches, and did the 20-yard T test in 4.12."

With a QB like Kyle Wright throwing you seeds all year, the coaching at USC was old-hat to DeSa. "The routes and stuff they were teaching us were things I already knew pretty well," he said. "I thought I played pretty well, but it's hard to get a lot of reps out here with so many players."

Cal, UCLA, Oregon, Arizona State and USC are the main schools contacting Sam righ now, along with the Arizona Wildcats. "Mostly west coast," he said. "LSU too. I got offered from them a couple of days ago."
