USC Nike camp update - Robert Gustavis

Robert Gustavis is a 6-3, 270-pound offensive lineman from Torrance (Calif.) North Torrance. He was one of the top offensive linemen at the USC Nike camp, using an aggressive style that helped him when going up against a talented group of defensive linemen.

Gustavis ran a 5.29 40, a 4.91 shuttle, repped 185 pounds 13 times and jumped 23 inches in the vertical leap. "I felt pretty confident," Gustavis told "It went good out there. They seemed to be on my level. I was right in the middle, maybe even a little bit higher."

Robert will take one set of SAQ drills back home with him for fine tuning. "The running drills, the way they taught us how to run," he said. "I think I'll be able to improve my speed."

Gustavis was a first team All-League selection as a junior last year. He also earned All-Area, All-CIF and All-State honors for underclassmen. Given the list of schools after him, those awards aren't surprising. "Stanford, USC, Nebraska, Colorado and Washington," Robert said when asked for his top 5 colleges. Top Stories
