Francies joins Montgomery, UW

The Washington Huskies might be playing the Oregon State Beavers this weekend in Seattle, but another Beaver just decided Wednesday to make Seattle his home for the next couple of years. Coye Francies, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound cornerback prospect from American River College in Sacramento, Calif., verbally committed to Washington today over an offer from Nevada.

"I called the coaches this morning and committed to them," Francies said. He has 10 interceptions on the season and is a solid return man who has good size and speed (a reported 4.4 40).

Francies, along with UW commit James Montgomery, played his high school football at Cordova High School in Rancho Cordova, Calif. He will graduate this December and enroll during winter quarter at Washington ready to challenge for playing time next season. He will have three years to play two. was able to get confirmation on the commitment from Francies, and will talk to him later tonight for more details on his decision.
