Morovick snaps up offer

Danny Morovick is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound long snapper from Mission Viejo, Calif., by way of Saddleback College, and Tuesday morning he called up Washington special teams coach Bob Simmons with the good news - he was committing to the Huskies. He had been offered the weekend before on an official visit, and had one thing he needed to do before pulling the trigger on a decision.

"I committed to Coach Simmons this morning," Morovick told Dawgman.com. "He was real excited. He welcomed me to the team He was real happy. I'm real happy. Things are happening fast, but it'll be good."

Morovick will move up to Seattle right after the new year, sign his scholarship paperwork and get right into college life at the Division-I level. He'll have four-and-a-half years to complete four years of eligibility since he did not compete at Saddleback. "They plan on starting me next season and I'll play for four years," said Morovick.

He talked about his decision. "I pretty much had decided after I went there," Morovick said. "I just had to come home and talk to my parents about it. I really like the facilities and everything and the city."
