Morris seeing diamonds in his future?

Jason Morris is a 6-0, 170-pound quarterback/athlete prospect from Mill Creek (Wash.) Jackson, and lately Morris' focus has turned from football to baseball. He wants to do both in college, so the schools that have come by to see him in May are responding in kind.

"Nebraska called me and they are recruiting me for football and baseball," Morris told "They are my number one choice now. I really like them." The Cornhuskers are primarily recruiting Jason as a quarterback.

Other schools recruiting Jason lately are Oregon State, Oregon, Colorado, Idaho, Idaho State and Washington State, with Washington State, Nebraska and Oregon State the top three recruiting him for both sports. "I want to play both sports in college, no question," Morris said.

Jackson has been a busy destination for college coaches lately. "Washington State, Idaho State, Idaho, Boise State and Washington have all come by to see me," he said. "USC too, but I think they were here more to see Craig (Chambers)."

Idaho State sounds like they are hot on Morris' tail. "I heard through the grapevine that I'm their number one in-state prospect and that they are going to come by and offer my on September 1st," he said.

He'll be attending Jackson's team camp at Western Washington and the Oregon Nike camp in Eugene. "The Nebraska coaches want me to come out to their camp and I'm going to try to find a way to do it," Morris said. "It's going to be hard because it's right in the middle of baseball, but I'll squeeze it in." Top Stories
