Cowboys offer Central Catholic Gunslinger

Ryan Gunderson is a 6-4, 205-pound quarterback prospect from Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic, and Ryan was supposed to be attending this Saturday's NIKE camp at Stanford, but had to unexpectedly pull out at the last minute.

"I was looking forward to it, seeing guys like Johnny (DuRocher) down there," Gunderson told last night. "But I did get a chance to work out with Bob Johnson (NIKE QB Coach) last weekend, so that was nice."

Ryan already has an offer from the Portland State Vikings, and his second offer came from a place you may not have expected - Stillwater, Oklahoma. "Well, it's kind of a long story but my Grandpa lives in Oklahoma and he ended up talking to some of the coaches at Oklahoma State and my name got referred to them," Gunderson said. "I sent them some tape and next thing I know they are calling me up and offering me."

Central Catholic has had their share of college coaches coming by in May. "Arizona State and Stanford came by today," he said. "Notre Dame, Cal and Oregon State have also stopped by." Ryan is currently listing Notre Dame, Cal, Arizona State, Washington and Oregon as his top-5.

Gunderson is still planning on attending the Oregon NIKE camp and is also partaking in Greg Barton's Air Attack camp in Beaverton. Top Stories
