NoCal NIKE camp update - Brian Soi

Much like Jake Kuresa last year, Provo (Utah) Timpview lineman Brian Soi came out west to put his name on the map. Not that he really had to. You see, the 6-4, 295-pound Soi already has 5 major D1 offers. But not from his favorite. Did he get their attention?

"I learned how to run," Soi told after camp was complete on the things he'll take back with him to Provo. "I liked that speed and agility coach. I wish I had talked to him before running my 40."

As it stands, Brian didn't do too bad in that 40. His 5.01 was quite respectable, but it's the 4.3 shuttle that is a jaw-dropper. He also did 27 reps of 185 pounds on the bench.

Soi plays both ways, but projects to be a defensive tackle in college. Colleges are looking at him on both sides of the ball. "Most of the Pac-10 schools," he said when asked who has been following him the hardest. "My favorite school is Washington."

Brian currently has offers from Colorado, Arizona, USC, Penn State and Utah. "I want to take trips before I make a commitment anywhere," he said. "Colorado for sure and Washington for sure. USC, Oregon and Arizona too." Top Stories
