NoCal NIKE camp update - Ryan Kalil

There were a slew of solid linemen at Stanford last weekend, and when the attention was turned to the big guys on the offensive side of the ball, none impressed more than Anaheim (Calif.) Servite OL Ryan Kalil. The 6-3, 262 Kalil bumped his recruiting stock up last weekend, but he's still looking for some elusive offers from his favorite schools.

"For me it was the competition, just learning how to compete and get after guys," Ryan told after the camp had finished about what he was going to take from Stanford. "Of all the camps I've been to, this was the best one by far."

Kalil tested well, running a 5.2 40, repping 185 pounds 26 times on the bench and jumping 27 inches in the vertical leap. Those numbers have already helped Ryan earn 4 D1 offers, from Hawaii, Kansas, Colorado State and Oregon State.

He's happy to be getting the attention, but if he had his way the local schools would be paying him a little more love. "USC, UCLA, the California schools are my favorites," he said. "I'd like to commit as early as possible but I'll wait to see what I can get."

If the Trojans or Bruins offer, look out. Top Stories
