NoCal NIKE camp update - Erik Sandie

Erik Sandie came to the NoCal NIKE camp last year as a sophomore to learn what to work on and what to expect when he made his second trip as a junior. Sandie must have taken his 10th grade lessons to heart as the 6-1, 250-pound lineman from Concord (Calif.) De La Salle was a much improved player from last year and showed that he will be a force to reckon with this fall

"It went pretty good," Erik told "I learned a couple of new moves and got a chance to see what the competition was like around the area."

Sandie tested out very well, running a 4.79 40, 4.42 shuttle and jumped 28 inches in the vertical leap. "I'm a lot quicker this year," he said, comparing last year to this year's effort. "I took three-tenths of a second off my 40 time. I feel a lot more agile this time, a lot bigger and stronger too."

Erik's top schools right now? Notre Dame, Texas and Washington. Since current lineman Robin Meadow is a De La Salle alumnus, it'll be interesting to see what the Washington coaches do in regards to this current Spartan. Top Stories
