Trip Report: Matt Sedillo

Matt Sedillo is a 6-foot-3, 290-pound offensive lineman from Orange Glen High School in Escondido, Calif., and Sedillo took an official visit to Washington this weekend to see if he could feel comfortable at an out-of-state school. What he experienced was more than he imagined possible.

"I really loved it there. I felt comfortable," Sedillo told Scout.com Monday about his Washington visit after returning home. "It went real good. We ate a lot, went out - it was real nice. Everything was nice. We were fed real well, and we got a chance to see everything, see all their equipment, facilities and everything they have access to. The stadium is insane. We went to the U-Dub-Oregon (basketball) game and hung out with the players."

On a scale from 1 to 10, Sedillo gave it a 10. "At least," he added.

Stanley Daniels and Scott White were Matt's host. "They just told me that if you decide to come to Washington you better have a mindset to win," Sedillo said.

He also had a lengthy conversation with Tyrone Willingham Monday morning. "He said that there are two of us that have an opportunity to earn a scholarship and that he wanted to meet us in person," Sedillo said. "He's going to tell me on Wednesday whether or not I have a scholarship, but basically he said that I do. But it's not guaranteed."

UW coaches might trip down to San Diego mid-week to seal the deal if they determine that Sedillo is their man. And if they do confirm the offer, Sedillo said he would snatch it up on the spot.
