Drummer loading up on offers

The month of May is coming to a close, and Leon Drummer, the 6-4.5, 308-pound lineman from Berkeley (Calif.) St. Mary's is right where he wants to be. He had a successful NoCal NIKE camp experience and now he's reaping the harvest of his hard work. Leon updated us with his current tally of scholarship offers.

"I finally got a call from Coach Neuheisel, at University of Washington, and I am really proud to say that he made me a verbal offer," Drummer told Dawgman.com. "He says he'll follow it up with a written (offer). I plan to make a trip to see the Huskies this summer. I also received another offer from San Diego State. I think that makes 8. Oh, and UCLA called with a "possible" offer...looks good."

Earlier in the week Drummer received a verbal offer from San Jose State University to go with his earlier ones from Colorado, UNLV, California and Stanford.

Leon was looking for the Husky coaches to reach him. "I think MOM wants me to go to Washington," he said. "Actually, we've made Seattle our vacation stop for the last two big ones to Canada."

And even though qualifying issues are usually a long ways away for most of the current high school juniors, Drummer has his priorities in order. " I got good SAT scores for now, and I registered for NCAA Clearinghouse," he said.
