Hectic schedule awaits Eugene signal-caller

Dawgman.com received a quick update from Eugene (Ore.) Sheldon QB Alex Brink, but to be honest it looked more like an itinerary for a Fortune 500 CEO. Brink is cashing in his frequent flyer miles and heading to locations such as Tempe, Arizona, Knoxville, Tennessee and Palo Alto, California to see what college suits him the best.

"I plan on attending the Nike combine this saturday along with a few of my teammates," Brink said. Other Sheldon players attending include Gabe Smith, Mike Proulx, Chris Baltzer and Colin Wiest.

Alex talked about his upcoming camping plans. "I have a pretty busy summer coming up here," he said. "Just this past Sunday (June 2) I was at Arizona State's "Senior Day Camp." It was a great experience where I was able to compete in a combine like atmosphere and meet the coaches."

It gets better. "The day following the Nike camp I am attending the Oregon half day camp," he said. "The Tuesday after the camp I am flying to Knoxville, Tennessee to visit my brother and attend their (Tennessee) skills camp for a week. In the last week of June (24-28) I am flying down to Palo Alto for Stanford's team camp. After that, in July and August, I am working out with my team preparing for the season and hopefully another run for a state title."

Portland State remains Alex' only current offer.

Brink also mentioned that he earned first-team all-league honors as a pitcher for Sheldon, who lost in the first round of playoffs.
