Huskies make play for Oregon DT

Benson (Portland) Polytechnic High School DT Myles Wade is one of the more sought-after players on the west coast. He's hearing from schools like USC, UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State, Notre Dame, Connecticut as well as the rest of the Pac 10 and a lot of Big 12 and Big 10 schools. Another school recently threw their hat in the ring and Wade says he's really excited about it.

"The University of Washington is starting to recruit me really hard," Wade said as he travelled back from the Barton linemen camps being held at the University of Oregon. "I talked to coach (Randy) Hart and he seems like a really great guy.

"He sent me his card in the mail and so I called him. We talked for a while and he said he was happy to hear from me and I said I was really happy to hear from them."

There were some rumors that Wade took an unofficial visit to Eugene to see the Ducks up close, but that hasn't happened yet.

"I haven't made it (to Oregon) yet, but I'm going to head up for their junior day whenever that is," Wade said. "I'm also going to go up to Washington for theirs, but I don't know when that is yet. I'm also planning on going to Seattle for their spring game in a couple weeks."

Wade is hearing a lot from Notre Dame, but no offer has been forthcoming.

"They've been talking about doing something by the end of the year," Wade said. "They want to see some more of my film and evaluate me a little more, so they just need to see more of me."

Wade is a regular at the Barton camps and plans to attend the camps when they make their way north to Montlake at the end of May and early June.
