Tyler and Trew a package deal?

Sometimes, the best things come in pairs, and the University of Washington just might get a taste of that in the coming weeks. Casey Tyler, a 6-6, 266-pound tight end prospect from Edmonds (Wash.) Edmonds-Woodway is ready to get his college choice over with. So what is he waiting for? To quote Mick Jagger, he's just waiting on a friend.

"He just wants to see what other offers are going to come," Tyler told Dawgman.com, talking about E-W teammate Kyle Trew. "He's pretty set on U-Dub. I don't really even know what he's waiting for."

It sounds like Casey has already made up his mind. His conversation with Husky Coach Rick Neuheisel at the Husky camp is pretty convincing evidence. "He still extended the offer to me," Casey said. "Kyle and I were walking out to the field and he caught up to us and said, 'When are we going to start the party?' and we were like, 'What party?' and he said, 'Well, when you guys commit we're going to have a party for you guys.' We told him that we would let him know. I told him that I'm waiting on Kyle. We pretty much want to go to the same school."

Tyler has been to two camps this summer. He's also been working out and attending summer school. "It was more intense at the U-Dub camp," he said. "We went to our team camp at Eastern (EWU) after that. The drills were fundamentally tougher. I had a lot of fun with the 7-7's. Kyle (Trew) stood out. He was on my team. The Eastern was good. The team did really good. Our line is going to be all juniors this year and they really stepped it up."

The only other team to talk to Casey about a scholarship offer is Idaho State. "They didn't really give me an offer like U-Dub did," he said. "They called up and said they would offer me." Is Tyler in the boat? At this point it appears that the official decision will be a mere formality for Casey, as his mind seems made up.
