Fouch takes trip to Washington

Following a standout performance at Cal's one-day camp last weekend, Redlands East Valley (Redlands, Ca.) QB Ronnie Fouch made a trip north this past week visiting Montlake and taking in the sites and sounds of the Emerald City. caught up with Fouch and he talked about his time in Seattle and his impressions of Washington's program.

"My dad and I flew up Wednesday evening," Fouch said. "We woke up on Thursday and the first thing we did was talk to coach (Tyrone) Willingham for about an hour and a half.

"That was just amazing getting to talk to him that long. For him to take that time to sit down with us was special. He's a great coach and I would love to play for him."

After that, Fouch met the player responsible for guiding the Husky ship this fall – QB Isaiah Stanback.

"He took us around campus and I got to talk to him about school and the area," Fouch said. "He's a great guy and he showed us around their facilities. Their facilities are amazing. All of the stuff they have there and the campus is beautiful.

"Then I met with coach (Tim) Lappano and since he's the offensive coordinator we watched some film and talked about routes and sets and stuff," Fouch noted. "He's a great guy and he and I get along really well. I could easily see myself playing in their offense.

"When we were ready to leave, coach Willingham came and talked to us again and said they would be in touch with me after their camp next week to let me know where I stand with them. They want to evaluate all the quarterbacks before they extend any offers so I'm just going to wait on that."

So what were his overall impressions of the trip?

"Seattle is such a beautiful city," Fouch said. "My dad and I both enjoyed ourselves a lot. The coaches were really nice, coach Willingham is definitely a coach I could play for, and the campus and facilities were amazing. We really had a great time."

On the recruiting front, Fouch recently added an offer from UTEP to his previous offers from Oregon State, Nevada, Wyoming and Boise State.

He said he expects to make a decision before the end of July and is currently open to everyone.
