Izbicki talks about Husky Junior Day

He's already committed to Washington and he's about as excited to be a Husky as you can be, but Lake Washington TE Chris Izbicki said his visit to Montlake on Saturday would have sealed the deal had he not already been in the fold.

"It was a great day to be on campus," Izbicki told Dawgman.com. "It was so great. We got to go up on top of Husky Stadium and hang out and the Blue Angels buzzed us and that was just crazy.

"I'm already committed, but if I was still 50/50 on the Dawgs then I would have committed on the spot because it was just that good yesterday."

Izbicki, one of the most outgoing recruits in recent years, didn't shy away from talking about some of the other recruits he talked to during the Junior Day event.

"Apai (Tuihalamaka) and Anthony (Boyles) were both great guys and I talked to them a lot," Izbicki said. "Both seemed to really enjoy themselves a lot and they asked a bunch of questions when the (current Husky) players were talking with us and the coaches weren't in the room.

"They asked why Washington is a school they should consider going to and the players told them how great the staff was and that Washington's traditions are so good. All three of those guys said that the Huskies are right in it for them."

The big tight end from Kirkland also spoke with some of his fellow commits and they are already forming a quick bond.

"I got to hang out with Ronnie (Fouch) for the first time so that was pretty cool," Izbicki said. "Quinton (Richardson) and Vonzell (McDowell) and I already know each other pretty well, but it was still cool to hang out with them and to do some recruiting ourselves."

Izbicki said he's ready for a big year at Lake Washington and will be at as many Husky games this fall as his schedule allows.
