Aguilar enjoys Washington visit

Washington is after some big-play receivers this year and Mullen (Denver) WR Devin Aguilar is a player that fits the Husky offensive system perfectly with his size and speed. The young receiver from Colorado was in town this weekend for Junior Day and spent the time getting to know the coaching staffs of two sports.

"I spent a lot of time with the football coaches, but I also met the basketball coaches as well," Aguilar, who plays point guard for Mullen. "I want to do both if I can, so I got to meet with the basketball coaches as well. Both staffs seemed really nice and they were both really straight-up with me in what they said.

"The football coaches especially said they wanted me to come there and be a playmaker for them."

Attending Junior Day with Aguilar was his uncle who is also one of his coaches.

"We both had a really good time," Aguilar said. "Coach (Tyrone) Willingham sat with us for a while and he told me what he wants to bring into the program and that I'm a player they like a lot because of my talents and who I am as a person.

"After that, we talked with coach (Eric) Yarber and he told us about where he came from and how he's coached all of those great wide receivers in the NFL – like T.O. (Terrell Owens) and Chad Johnson. He was a really cool guy.

"Overall it was a really great visit and trip. I loved the city and the campus. It was really amazing and I can't wait to come up here and visit after the season."

Aguilar said the Husky coaching staff is trying to set up his official visit for one of the weeks following the regular season and he is very likely to take all of his visits before he makes his final decision.
