Huskies pick up another commit

It's been a great four days for the Huskies as they've been able to pick up five commits over the past three days. On Wednesday, they picked up their sixth this week as Overland DB Jared Campbell committed to head coach Tyrone Willingham when the Washington head man was in his living room.

"I'm excited to say that I committed to Washington tonight," Campbell told "Coach Willingham and coach (Bob) Simmons were here and they told me they loved my film and I was just the kind of player they wanted in the program.

"They also said they're looking for a few guys to play corner and that is where they want me. So I just looked him in the eye and said 'coach, I want to commit to you right now' and he said that was great and he was really happy."

Campbell's parents are also very supportive of his decision and plan to come to as many games as possible in the future.

"My parents trusted me to make the right decision and they're 100% behind me," Campbell said. "I'm looking forward to being a Husky for the rest of my life."

Campbell said he has no plans to take any more visits and that it was Willingham as well as the school that helped make his decision.

"I love coach Willingham and I know he'll help me be successful," Campbell said. "The school is what really sold me. I visited Colorado and they had some nice facilities and a nice campus, but Washington is just an amazing school and the campus is beautiful and I know I can get a top-notch education there."

Campbell will now turn his attention toward a friend that has yet to commit to a school, but has the Huskies in his final four.

"I'm going to call Drew (Davis) later tonight and tell him where I'm headed," Campbell said. "I guess Devin (Aguilar) and Alvin (Logan) have been working on him and now he's going to get my input as well.

"I think it would be cool to get all four of us from Colorado and it's really great because we already all know each other."

Campbell now becomes the 17th player to commit the Huskies' 2007 recruiting class, and the sixth in the last 72 hours.
