Fancher is finished

Skyler Fancher is a 6-foot-6, 295-pound offensive tackle from Huntington Beach, Calif., and Fancher just finished his official visit to the University of Washington. What did he think of Seattle and the Huskies?

"We toured the facilities, ate a lot of food - that's about it," Fancher said of his second official visit. His first was to San Diego State last weekend.

"I committed on my visit. I'm a Husky."

Fancher committed to UW Head Coach Tyrone Willingham and OL coach Mike Denbrock. "They were excited," he said of the coaches' reaction to his pledge. Cody Habben was his host.

So what got Fancher excited about being a Husky? "The people," he said. "The facilities are great. Tyrone Willingham, he's a great coach - all the coaches are. Those are some of the things that got me. The whole thing kind of jumped out at me."

Fancher just started to get notice for his play down in Southern California. "My school is kind of under the radar," he said. "We haven't been that good the last couple of years. This year we kind of broke through. I worked really hard. I sent tapes out and now people are starting to take notice."

Denbrock is a coach that liked what he saw when checking out Fancher's tape. "He's a great guy," Fancher said of his future position coach. "He's excited to have me up there. He said I'm the kind of person he wants up there."

The Huskies are projecting Fancher as a tackle.
