DL/OL Fred Koloto visit report

Fred Koloto arrived in Seattle on Friday and was hosted by redshirt freshman Cameron Elisara. "He is a great person. He showed me around Seattle and I had a lot of fun with him. I enjoyed being around all of the guys, like Jake Locker and some of the offensive linemen," said Koloto told Dawgman.com this morning.

"I loved the city. It is kind of like San Francisco but greener and cleaner. I hear a lot of stuff about it raining there, but the whole city was beautiful. From the Space Needle to the location of the campus, it's all great."

He really loved his trip to the Space Needle restaurant for dinner. "I have never been up on anything like that. It was a great experience. The view of Mt. Rainier was beautiful. Everything was great."

"I was impressed with the recruits I visited with. They are a talented group. I knew Mason Foster a little bit, he played for a team that was in our area. His team won the section championship."

Koloto was impressed with Coach Willingham. "He is great person and motivator. He expects a lot, but at the same time, his players expect a lot out of him. He stresses that everything that we do on the football field, off of the football field, and in the community, you have to give it 100% effort."

"I really liked talking with OL Coach Mike Denbrock. He really loves teaching the game to kids like me. Coach Lappano is my recruiter and I have been in touch with him since day one. I enjoy being around all of them," said Koloto.

Koloto had a scholarship offer from Washington in May. He is still going to mull it over because he wants to make sure that when he gives his word, you can take it to the bank.

"Washington is definitely going to be a hard place to beat. For me, I haven't made up my mind yet, I need to take my other visits before I make my final decision. I'll talk it over with my parents and coach, and I'll decide where I'm the most comfortable. Then I will choose."

Koloto will postpone his trip to San Jose State because of his football playoffs, but he will take visits to Fresno State and San Diego State, and will reschedule the SJS trip for later in January.

Koloto told us that Curtis Shaw had committed while he was there. We'll be in touch with him later today.
