On his way out?

It appears that Eric Yarber has coached his last game for the University of Washington. Having played under Dennis Erickson at Idaho and then as an assistant coach with Erickson at Oregon State and the San Francisco 49'ers, Yarber appears headed to another stint with Erickson at Arizona State.

Yarber has been unavailable for comment, and a UW spokesman said that it would be inappropriate to comment on the situation before anything has been made official, but Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, as well as other sources close to the situation have confirmed they believe Yarber is out and on his way to Tempe.

Attempts to reach Arizona State SID Mark Brand were unsuccessful, although it's believed that the Sun Devils will be announcing another addition to Erickson's staff as early as Saturday.

Yarber played for Erickson at Idaho(1984-85) and was a Kodak All-American as a senior. He worked with Erickson as a quality control coach with the Seattle Seahawks before following Erickson to Oregon State in 1999. He became the Beavers' receivers coach in 2000, and during his three years at that position coached both Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who both now play for the Cincnnati Bengals.

Current UW Offensive Coordinator Tim Lappano also coached with Erickson at Oregon State and at San Francisco, but has publically stated that he has no desire to leave his current post at Washington.
