Trip Report: Darrion Weems

One of the biggest names to pop-up late for the Huskies in the recruiting season this year was Taft (Woodland Hills, Ca.) OL Darrion Weems. On Thursday, he played in a high school all-star game in Florida and decided to make his trip to Washington this weekend afterall and he came away impressed.

"It was a lot better up there than I thought it was going to be," Weems told Dawgman.com. "The trip up there was cool and the coaches and the players were cool."

Weems' host on his trip was DE De'Shon Matthews and the two spent a lot of time together.

"He was really cool," Weems said. "I knew of some of the other players and we all just hung out and got to see what Washington was about. It was a lot of fun.

"I really liked coach (Tyrone) Willingham a lot. He's great and he's real smart too."

Weems is scheduled to visit Oregon, Florida and Arizona before he finally makes his decision.

"I may take all of them or I may take only one or two," Weems said. "Whenever I feel comfortable and ready to commit that's when I'll make my decision."

We'll have more later this month from Weems.
